Local Government Law
Today, commercial businesses must work with local governments to operate and be good corporate citizens. Each local governmental entity has a charter and ordinances which affect the use of personal and property interest. Local governments are given the power to regulate most commercial activity within their geographical boundaries.
One of the primary functions of local governments is to control the
patterns of urban growth, land use and development. Most of this effort by
local governments is done through land use regulations and codes. These codes are
complex and are subject to amendments and court interpretations.
Whether the client is seeking site plan approval for proposed development or
working with the local government to adopt proposed legislation, Williams
Wilson & Sexton has the background and knowledge through working with
various local governments throughout the State of Florida.
